The official 2025 CAMCA Regional Forum report was recently released highlighting the events of the 11th annual Forum held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia over June 19th-20th, 2025.

Organized by the CAMCA Network (the formal alumni organization of the CAMCA Fellowship Program), the Rumsfeld Foundation and the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute, the 2025 Forum convened over 350 professionals from 20 countries around the globe – from across the entire CAMCA region as well as from the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Asia and beyond – to discuss opportunities, challenges and recent developments throughout the region in relation to this year’s Forum theme: "Envisioning a Regional Future: Business, Society and Governance in CAMCA."

Keynote speakers included H.E. Dorjkhand Togmid, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia; Javkhlantugs Ganbaatar, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia; Dr. Oyun Sanjaasuren, Director of External Affairs, Green Climate Fund; and H.E. Richard L. Buangan, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia.

Other speakers represented top industry leaders and experts from organizations like the IFC, EBRD, CSIS, AIFC, Oyu Tolgoi, Big Sky Capital VC, National Defense University, Badrakh Energy and many more. Representatives of 16 regionally focused companies also participated in the Forum's Business Expo, showcasing their unique products and initiatives across the CAMCA region.

Apart from the official sessions, the Forum also included several sideline events and activities including:

  • ESTEC 2025 at the National University of Mongolia organized by the CAMCA Academic Consortium, a dynamic half day of roundtable discussions and presentations focused on shared regional priorities: climate resilience, sustainable innovation, and next-generation talent development.
  • A CAMCA and ASEAN B2B Forum co-organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Asia Small Business Federation and BizNetwork which convened more than 35 companies from CAMCA and ASEAN countries interested in fostering commercial linkages.
  • The CAMCA Network Annual Meeting during which network members gathered to share updates on the network’s development and exciting new initiatives as well as to learn more about Mongolia.
  • An official Welcoming Reception generously hosted by ARD Financial Group, Mongolia’s leading fintech company, with live Mongolian music and views overlooking Ulaanbaatar.

Here is what is being said about the 2025 Forum in regional news outlets:

“The second pillar is soft-power networking through the Central Asia–Mongolia–Caucasus–Afghanistan (CAMCA) Forum…CAMCA has become the region’s main gathering for next-generation policymakers, entrepreneurs and scholars. Its rotating meetings champion ideas such as a regional travel visa, digital customs systems and shared green finance schemes – reframing Mongolia not as a peripheral bystander but as an essential tenth stakeholder alongside its Central Asian and Caucasus peers.” – The Astana Times

“As Greater Central Asia moves to reclaim its voice, the future of the region will depend on whether its leaders can turn shared vision into shared infrastructure. CAMCA is not yet a finished structure, but it is one of the first forums to be built from within. Its strength lies not in replacing existing ties, but in deepening regional confidence—and showing that cooperation on Central Asia’s terms is not only possible, but long overdue.” – The Times of Central Asia

“On June 19-20, 2025, Ulaanbaatar became a strategic platform for dialogue among leaders from Central Asia, the Caucasus, Mongolia, and Afghanistan. The capital of Mongolia hosted the CAMCA Regional Forum—one of the few events capable of bringing together such a diverse array of countries and societies within a unified space for dialogue. The 2025 CAMCA Forum demonstrated that the desire for coordination and a shared future is becoming a key unifying factor for the region. Despite their differences, forum participants—from state leaders to young scholars—engaged on equal footing, exchanging experiences, ideas, and strategies. As it concluded, the forum left behind not only a rich program and a set of agreed approaches, but also the momentum for new initiatives that will strengthen cooperation, sustainability, and prosperity across the CAMCA region.” – UZ Daily
