2025 Graduate Fellows Announced

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C. - The Rumsfeld Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of its 2025 Graduate Fellows.

This year the Foundation selected seven scholars to join the ranks of its Graduate Fellowship Network – each nominated for their demonstrated leadership potential, moral character and exceptional academic and civic achievements. The 2025 Graduate Fellows represent diverse academic backgrounds and career experiences, though are united in their aspirations to contribute in public service. This year’s Fellows will pursue master’s and doctoral studies in fields ranging from international relations and security studies to public policy and statecraft.

Some of the already impressive roles and credentials of the 2025 Fellows include:

  • Former Intern at the U.S. State Department, U.S. Africa Command, and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations
  • A master’s degree holder from three European universities through the Central and Eastern European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies International Masters Erasmus Mundus (CEERES) programme
  • Director for Arctic & Oceans Policy at the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy
  • Production Editor at Harvard’s Journal on Law and Technology
  • Alpha Chapter President for the International Association for Intelligence Education
  • Recipient of Georgetown University’s Leroy W. Grever Memorial Award
  • Former War Studies Fellow at the Institute for the Study of War

In addition to a stipend supporting their current graduate studies, the Foundation is pleased to offer these new network members extensive professional development and networking opportunities through year-round events, communications and initiatives designed to support them in their academic and professional journeys in the coming years.

One new Fellow noted, “The Fellowship Network would be an incredible opportunity for me to engage with and learn from a community of likeminded leaders who share a desire to serve our country and promote the principles of moral leadership, integrity, and service. As I continue to develop my expertise in national security…I would benefit greatly from the mentorship, intellectual exchange, and professional development resources provided by the Fellowship Network.”

As the program enters its 17th academic year this fall and welcomes the incoming 2025 Fellows, the Graduate Fellowship Network will consist of an impressive collection of 221 rising public service leaders, as well as 19 distinguished program Advisers located at universities across the country who serve as Fellowship nominators and mentors.

Over 75% of the members of the Graduate Fellowship Network are currently serving in public service or policy fields, including in a wide variety of capacities in the Departments of Defense, State and Treasury, the U.S. military, U.S. Congress, state and local government, policy and research centers, academia and more.
