A Look Inside the CAMCA Forum

We hope you enjoy this vlog featuring a series of interviews conducted with a few of the Foundation’s CAMCA Fellows as they attended our most recent CAMCA Regional Forum in June of 2022.

In these conversations, we asked our Fellows to share more about why professionals from across the region and beyond should consider attending this annual convening, including their insights on the types of leaders and experts that participate and what else makes the CAMCA Forum unique. Hear their inside perspectives below!

"It is a great opportunity to reflect on what is going on in the world, to reimagine how we could change the world..."

Zarina is the Founder & CEO of BGlobal based in the Kyrgyz Republic which operates unique and innovative business trips around the globe for business owners and top management companies. She was a CAMCA Fellow in the Fall of 2012.

"Being able to bring your products, take part at the business expo, talk to people, get their sense and even show them your products, I think that is just super crucial for any kind of entrepreneur - it is an amazing opportunity..."

Khulan is founder, director and chief technologist of multi-award winning organic skincare brand LHAMOUR based in Mongolia. She was a CAMCA Fellow in the Spring of 2018.

"The CAMCA Forum has no comparable other platform focusing on this specific region. I think that is what makes it very unique...I don't think there is another platform as specialized and as focused as CAMCA."

Shoaib is Acting Chair of the Business Department at the American University of Afghanistan and Visiting Scholar at the New School. He was a CAMCA Fellow in the Fall of 2015.

"This is the uniqueness of the CAMCA Forum and the CAMCA Network as a platform - that we became a space where it's not only about the work, it is about the family, the values and about understanding that you are not alone in this world."

Tamuna is Chairperson of the Free Democrats Party and Associate Professor in political science at British University in the Republic of Georgia. She was a CAMCA Fellow in the Spring of 2014.

"Their importance is really underrated and that is the reason why the CAMCA Forum should be paid attention to..." [Commenting on the CAMCA countries]

Tuvshin is a Principal Adviser at Rio Tinto Mongolia. He was a CAMCA Fellow in the Spring of 2015.

"This is a unique platform where the leaders of this CAMCA region gather together and it is hand-picked, high-profile, high-potential experts, leaders and entrepreneurs that unite together."

Sardor is the Founder of Biz Network and the 5amClub in Uzbekistan. Sardor was a CAMCA Fellow in Fall of 2019.

The CAMCA (Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan) Regional Forum is a non-political and non-partisan Forum established to promote region-wide discussions on means of advancing economic growth and development in Greater Central Asia (Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan). It promotes this goal by fostering dialogue and interaction among rising young leaders from all sectors in the 10 countries of the region, as well as with international leaders and stakeholders. The Forum organizers believe that expanded communication and collaboration among talented professionals from a range of fields can significantly contribute to economic, political and social development on both a national and regional basis.
