Washington, D.C. — The Rumsfeld Foundation is pleased to release its annual report outlining progress made across its key focus areas in 2020. Read the full report here: 2020 Annual Report

"Reflecting on the global hardships and challenges of the past year, we remain inspired by the resilience and courage of the American people and are particularly grateful to all of the public servants and citizens who have stepped forward across the nation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic…As you review the report, you will see an emphasis on community, partnership and collaboration − our top takeaways from the year. There is no doubt that these tenets and our incredible community of friends and supporters were at the core of our advancements in 2020," reads the report’s welcoming message. Toward encouraging and honoring public service, in 2020 the Foundation awarded Fellowships to 17 aspiring public servants and hosted 7 online events, including a virtual Annual Conference, to facilitate alumni connectivity. In addition, the Foundation made grants, in partnership with the Rumsfeld Family Fund, totaling over $270,000 to a select group of military charities, all providing innovative and impactful programs and opportunities for our nation’s troops, veterans and their families.

To support and engage with the important region of Greater Central Asia, in lieu of hosting Fellowship sessions in Washington, D.C. and organizing the regionally-based CAMCA Forum, in 2020 the Foundation focused on facilitating collaboration among its alumni base, known as the CAMCA Network. This included several online events and a virtual conference.

“In compiling this report and reflecting on the past year, it became clear to our team that above all we want to honor the outstanding individuals who comprise our networks and their critical role in our programs’ success. The rising leaders and dedicated public servants that we support continue to motivate and inspire us every day. In 2020, amidst so many challenges, that was certainly the case,” said Sarah Tonucci, Executive Director.
