Washington, D.C. – On September 23rd-24th the Rumsfeld Foundation hosted its ninth annual Graduate Fellowship Conference in Washington, D.C. with network members attending from across the country.
Washington, D.C. – A frequently mentioned Rumsfeld’s Rule from Dwight Eisenhower states that, “Plans are worthless, but planning is everything.” Always one to immerse himself and his staff in thoughtfully and carefully thinking through future scenarios, the Foundation is fortunate that Secretary Rumsfeld prepared its leadership to provide continuity and guidance in the wake of his passing.
A man whose lifetime of public service began as a Naval aviator, Donald Rumsfeld died on June 29th at the age of 88, surrounded by family at his home in Taos, New Mexico.
In lieu of the annual CAMCA Regional Forum, throughout the week of June 21st-25th, the Foundation, in partnership with the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and the CAMCA Network, hosted the 2021 e-CAMCA Forum, a virtual conference for the CAMCA Forum community centered around the theme: “Economic Prospects of the CAMCA Region.”

From May 17th-20th the Rumsfeld Foundation hosted a “Spring Series” comprised of daily virtual events for its Graduate Fellowship Network members across the country.
Upon the initial publication of our founder’s memoir, Known and Unknown, and the launch of the app, Churchill Solitaire, Don Rumsfeld announced that all of his profits from the sales of these two projects would be donated to the Foundation in support of its grantmaking to military and veterans organizations. Today we are pleased to report that the Foundation has received more than $1 million from these two initiatives to date.
Washington, D.C. — Joining millions around the world in celebrating the global generosity movement this Giving Tuesday, the Foundation is pleased to report on its annual military and veterans grants. We are delighted to announce that in 2020 the Rumsfeld Foundation and Rumsfeld Family Fund granted over a quarter of a million dollars to military charities assisting active duty troops, veterans, the wounded, their families and the families of the fallen.
